DiProGB - The Dinucleotide Properties Genome Browser

Download

1. New DiProGB versions

DiProGB is freely available to non-commercial users. The following downloadable versions are directly executable on Windows. DiProGB can also be run on Linux, BSD or Mac OS X, but a Windows emulator like WineHQ, for example, needs to be installed first. This was tested successfully on Linux systems. A general description of Wine can be found in the corresponding Wikipedia article.

  • Modified interface for the search for repetitive subsequences. It is now possible to distinguish between and filter for different types of repeats.
  • Minor bugs fixed.
DiProGB_20090617.exe 20090617 (17.06.09)
  • Display of multiple sequence graphs for different dinucleotide properties.
  • New interface for uploading any feature file in a tabular format including files customized by the user. It is now possible to merge several feature files for one genome.
  • Improved display of repeat search results: extra columns for tandem repeats and distances between motifs. Improved clustering.
  • Modified interface for motif search.
  • Modified interface for Position specific statistics (PSS). It is now possible to create a PSS for letter-based mono-, di-, tri- and physicochemical dinucleotide properties.
  • Minor bugs fixed.

3. Dinucleotide properties

Dinucleotide property sets can be downloaded from the Dinucleotide Property Database (DiProDB) via Table->Save->Save for DiProGB. This generates a file with one or more datasets. This file is directly readable by DiProGB (see Section 3.1).
A file containing all information carrying 15 principal components of the >100 dinucleotide properties from DiProDB can be downloaded here.

4. Sequence files

Resources to download nucleotide sequence files (e.g. GenBank or FASTA formats) are Entrez Genome Project Home, or directly GenBank, for example.

5. Source code

The complete source code for the last DiProGB version can be downloaded as zipped file here.
